Capitalism is not a Dirty word. Capitalism is seen as evil, as greed and as a system that needs to be replaced. Many people have the same opinion and views when it comes to capitalism. Although it has been the American way for years, we do need to make changes in a way that will benefit everyone equally. I really believe that it is up to an individual to make their own mark in this life and how much money they make depends on how hard one is willing to work. Yes, many "elites" have profound affect of where money goes and who get the majority, truth is any person that owns their own business deserves to say who gets what. The government oversees how these companies are dispersing their money and yet money is still swindled, or placed over seas. The real people responsible for the miss use in capitalism is our very own government. The government made of our peers are suppose to have the American people's back and best interests, and they do as long as they benefit from it. Obama bailed out many financial institutes but did not follow up on where the money went until it was to late. Prior to dispersal of the money, stipulations how the money is used, fees set for the bail-out, and fines for the miss use of the money. This should have been put in place prior to dispersal of the money to avoid any fraud by the financial institutions. So again I ask who is taking advantage of capitalism? The late President Kennedy once asked what can the American people can do for their country and if he was here today he would be disgusted at his own fellow governmental peers. Many of our soldiers will never make close to what a movie star might earn, nor will he earn what a senator might make, but he/she by far does more for his/her country than any other citizen. So do the people have it all backwards? Yes! We need to make a change but it has to start in our own back yard. People that never work a day in their life get assistance to provide care for the children or themselves. These are the same people screaming that they deserve to have what others around them have, yet they choose to sit at home and do nothing about it. So are they affected by capitalism? No, they are not taking advantage of all there is to offer in life. This would be known as Socialism. They have created a new problem.
According to, Capitalism, Socialism or Communism; Class Warfare - Rich vs. Poor Social Justice and Income Redistribution
Capitalism:
Under Capitalism, individuals own and control land, capital, and production of industry. Individuals are free to purchase and own their own homes, cars, furniture, and other goods such as TV, radios, computers, boats, or any thing else you might want. You have total freedom to live where you want and what type of job field you want to pursue. If you have an idea for a new business or invention, you are free to pursue this without government interference. Under this system you have the maximum number of choices in life. This is the 'pursuit of happiness' from the Declaration of Independence.
Socialism:
Socialism is a concept that individuals should not have ownership of land, capital (money), or industry, but rather the whole community collectively owns and controls property, goods, and production. Ideally, in this system all share equally in work and the fruits of their labor. Ideally this is a Christian version of help the poor and needy, sharing equally, but in the real world this can cause some problems as we will see later.
After learning the difference which do you pick. Does equally really mean that if one person makes $50.00hr and the other only $10.00hr should they have to give up $20.00 to make it equal? Now ask yourself after working all day do you want to divide your earnings equally with another person who chooses not to better themselves? How would it feel to come home and not own it or have to share it someone that is homeless! Capitalism is not the problem the way it is being abused is the real problem.
Amen.
